We will be staying in motels and plan to drive during daylight. I am thinking of allowing 2 more days, so we could stop in Adelaide and stay one day there as well.
I was thinking to go via Esperance. Any tips you could give us?

Hi Hannah

It depends, will you be camping or staying in hotels. We thought 5 days we too rushed, and we didn't get enough time each day to relax. We also needed to arrive before sunset to give us time to set up our tent.
If you don't mind arriving to your accommodation each day after sunset, it will be fine.

This is such a helpful blog!

I am planning to do the trip from Perth to Melbourne in a few weeks- but I will just have 4 days to arrive there. I will be driving on a Suzuki swift sharing the wheel with my partner. Should I bring spare fuel with me? With your experience, do you think 4 days will be enough? we would still like to see the view along the road and take some pictures...
